Calendar season baby. I’ve been creating these calendars for quite a few years now and it’s the perfect way to bring me back to my roots every year. I started my photography journey in nature and creating this calendar every year is a nice reminder of my “why.”

Staying consistent on social media is A LOT of work. Trust me, I get it.

There’s a whole lot of planning, time blocking, and mental power that goes into publishing valuable content for your followers on a consistent basis. And yeah, sometimes you may fall off the horse for a bit.

But whatever you do, don’t give up. Get back on it - sit and plan some content tomorrow. Start again.

Social media isn’t about perfection. It’s about consistency.

👉🏻 Canva: It's like design software for those who are not designers. Design graphics, reels and more with premade designs, or start from scratch! It's super user friendly and available on desktop and your app. I don't know about you, but I could spend HOURS creating content on here.. and I do 😉

👉🏻 Meta Business Suite: Not as fun and fancy as canva, but arguably more valuable. Through Meta Business Suite's app, you can track your posts performance, get insight on the best times to post, and even schedule posts ahead of time. It's the perfect tool to stay consistent in your posting.

👉🏻 Edits: Though the newest of the bunch, Edits has already been a game changer. This app (connected to your Instagram account) allows you to edit, trim, add trending audio, add captions and more in a super user-friendly app.

Social media marketing tips incoming 👉🏻

As a social media marketer, we can never truly promise growth. The algorithm is ever changing, as well as your followers' behaviors and more. I can, however, give you a few tips to ensure you're staying relevant on social media. The rest is up to you!

Serve your target audience. Identify who your ideal client is and always work to provide and serve them. Help them solve problems they may be facing, provide them with information and resources etc. If you approach posting like you're having a conversation with your ideal client, then you'll always be helping and serving them.

Remember, quality over quantity. Posting all the time is great, right? Of course, but if you're not providing value to your followers, then there is really no point. Your top priority should be to provide valuable content, not just dump any thought that comes into your brain. The easiest way to insure you are creating helpful content is to plan, batch, and schedule!

Consistency is key. Don't bite off more than you can chew by posting 7 days a week to every platform out there. You'll burn out super quickly and not want to continue at that rate. Instead, try scheduling content a few times a week and focusing on one or two platforms, especially those that your target audience is most active on. That way you can sustain this plan in the long term.

And lastly, don't post and ghost. Make sure you're interacting with your followers - answering DMs or comments and liking or commenting on their content too. Engaging with your audience ensures your posts will be seen more often.

In case you missed it - I recently stayed at Four Acre Woods Campground in Deer Isle, Maine to take some marketing photos for their gorgeous campground.

We stayed in their geodome, explored around the island, and met some awesome people also staying and making the best of a rainy weekend.

Okay, funny story 👉🏻

A few years ago when I moved to NH and was registering everything up here I figured, hey let's get a vanity plate for my business! Knowing that "CAPTURED" was too many letters, I just thought dropping the "e" was the easiest and most obvious thing to do. But, to my surprise, when my new license plate came in the mail all I could see was "TURD" staring me in the face. Everyone thought it was hilarious - and I mean everyone. My friends and family couldn't stop laughing.. I even saw strangers taking pictures of it in traffic lol

I was SO embarrassed. It was only when I decided to laugh along with them and embrace it that I found the joy in it. So much so that I decided I not only was going to keep it, but I was going to design merch around it, too 😂

And that my friends, is how this silly license plate shirt came to be. If you see the "CAPTURD" drive by you someday, give me a beep 😂

One of our first priorities was to get him a website that showcased not only his awesome craftsmanship, but his fun-loving personality and dedication to making his job sites different than most. Got to hangout and capture some marketing photos for @four_acre_woods_campground last weekend up on Deer Isle, Maine.

If you know anything about me you know that I LOVE camping and the coast of Maine, so it was the perfect mix.

We got to stay in the geodome with the pup (yes, it’s dog friendly!) and explore the amenities around the campground as well as adventure around the island. There’s so much to see - from hiking trails to yummy restaurants, we had a blast. And although it rained most of the time, Four Acre Woods had our back! We hung out in the community cabin for a bit with other guests and got cozy playing games in the geodome.

I cannot wait to travel back here!

Full transparency, this week hasn't been the greatest.

Some weeks are just better than others. That's the way it goes. Working in the creative world can be really tough. The work you do is a direct representation of yourself, your mind, your personality.. so when people don't like it.. well it's a tough pill to swallow. It's different than "these numbers are wrong" or "this spreadsheet needs tweaking" - your creative brain gets SO excited to build and create. So, when your client isn't on the same page as you it can be tough to not let it under your skin. To not take it personally.

And so, some weeks are just better than others. And that's okay. Time to shake it off and get back on this social media train.

We're all insecure. We triple check photos and videos we take of ourselves and wonder if people are going to watch our stories or like our posts. It's hard to show up as a business owner on social media and put yourself out there. I get it.

But what we forget is that social media was created to make connections. And you'll never make a connection with others if you don't put yourself out there. So show up authentically, because you never know, you might just make a connection.
